about
I used to sit in Union Station in Chicago quite a bit, the wooden benches, the high ceilings, the steep wide staircases, sunlight pouring in from the windows. I always felt more of a kinship to the homeless people there than the suit-clad business types. This is a fairly concise memory of that time in my life, and that empathy.
lyrics
Limping down the stairs at the train station
People everywhere hurrying from here to there
Clinging to the rail, feeling dizzy, will I fall?
Will I fall. Will I fall. Will I fall. Will I fall...
Did you hear that?
Beads of sweat upon my neck
What have I done
What am I about to do?
Something to save me
Give me a pill, give me a gun
Stop the floor from spinning
The rushing water roaring in my ears
Lying on the floor in the Great Hall
Chill upon my skin
The marble floor
A breath of wind
Feeling for my bags
Do I have them?
Did I fall?
Did I fall. Did I fall. Did I fall. Did I fall...
Did you hear that?
Beads of sweat upon my neck
What have I done
What am I about to do?
Something to save me
Give me a pill, give me a gun
Stop the floor from spinning
The rushing water roaring in my ears
A bathroom stall, a wrecking ball
It takes so long
Why can't I make it start
A pin mark, a racing heart
Why does it take so long to make it start
Then I'll have fallen
Did you hear that?
Beads of sweat upon my neck
What have I done
What am I about to do?
Something to save me
Give me a pill, give me a gun
Stop the floor from spinning
The rushing water roaring in my ears
